Real-World Safety Glass Projects

Available Glass Types

Clear Glass
Maximum visibility and light transmission. Perfect for retail storefronts, floor-to-ceiling windows, and standard patio doors.

Frosted Glass
The ultimate choice for secure shower doors, bathroom windows, or medical clinics where visual privacy is strictly required.

Tinted Grey
Reduces harsh sun glare and heat transfer. Ideal for sun-facing exterior doors, commercial balconies, and modern architecture.

Tinted Bronze
A warm, earthy tint that provides excellent UV and glare reduction while pairing beautifully with traditional wood door frames.
Available Thicknesses
Safety glass needs to withstand immense pressure and high traffic. We offer a full range of heavy-duty thicknesses tailored specifically for both tempered and laminated security applications.
3/16″ Thick
A lighter safety option perfectly suited for patio furniture covers, small interior glass partitions, and lightweight framed shower doors.
1/4″ Thick
The industry standard. The go-to choice for residential door replacements, large low-level windows, and retail display cases.
3/8″ Thick
A heavy-duty structural option. Highly popular for frameless shower enclosures, soundproof office walls, and heavy dining tables.
1/2″ Thick
Maximum security and strength. Used for extreme architectural applications like frameless glass balcony guardrails and skylights.
Available Glass Edges
Flat Polished Edge
A perfectly smooth, machine-polished edge. Essential if the edge of the glass will be completely exposed, such as on a frameless shower door, balcony guardrail, or dining tabletop.
Beveled Edge
A beautiful, decorative sloped cut along the perimeter. Ideal for thick safety glass used as custom tabletop covers or decorative pieces where an elegant, frameless aesthetic is desired.
Extra Options & Customizations
Whether you are hanging a heavy security door or installing frameless shower hinges, we provide precision cutouts and drilled holes so your glass is completely installation-ready.
Precision CNC Fabrication
Important Note: Tempered safety glass cannot be cut, drilled, or altered in any way after the manufacturing process. Attempting to do so will cause the panel to shatter instantly. All hardware holes and edge notches must be mapped out beforehand.
✓ Hardware Holes
Precision drilled openings to securely attach heavy pull handles, shower door hinges, or stainless steel railing standoffs.
✓ Radius Corners
Smoothly curved corners designed for exposed tabletops or frameless architectural elements to prevent sharp, dangerous points.
✓ Cutouts & Notches
Custom edge-notching to seamlessly accommodate commercial floor closers, security locks, and patch fittings.
How To Measure For Windows & Doors
Measuring for safety replacement glass requires precision, as the glass cannot be easily shaved down on-site. Follow these guidelines for a perfect fit.
Measure the Channel
Measure the opening from inside the frame/track where the glass will actually sit, NOT just the visible daylight opening.
Deduct for Tolerance
Subtract 1/8″ to 1/4″ from your total measurements. Safety glass expands slightly in heat and requires room in the frame so it doesn’t crack.
Use a Metal Tape
Never use flexible cloth tapes. Ensure your rigid metal tape is held perfectly straight and level across the opening.
Submit in Inches
To ensure a streamlined, error-free manufacturing process across our USA facilities, please submit all final dimensions in standard inches.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Tempered and Laminated glass?
Tempered glass is heat-treated to be up to 5x stronger than standard glass, and if broken, it safely shatters completely into thousands of blunt pebbles. Laminated glass may crack easier than tempered, but it holds its shape and stays in the frame because of an inner plastic layer. For ultimate security, you can actually order glass that is BOTH tempered and laminated.
Where is safety glass legally required?
Building codes require safety glass in “hazardous locations.” This includes shower doors, any glass within 24 inches of a doorway, large windows close to the floor (within 18 inches), and all stairway or balcony guardrails.
Can I cut safety glass myself?
No! Tempered glass absolutely cannot be cut, drilled, or altered in any way after the manufacturing process; it will shatter instantly. Laminated glass is extremely difficult to cut cleanly on-site. We highly recommend letting our CNC machines cut your safety glass to the exact size you need.
Which one is better for soundproofing?
Laminated glass is the clear winner for acoustics. The plastic PVB interlayer is excellent at dampening outside sound waves, making it highly recommended for homes or offices near busy highways.
What is the turnaround time?
Most custom safety glass orders are manufactured, precision-cut, and shipped within 9–11 business days.

Custom Safety Glass: Tempered & Laminated Solutions
When it comes to high-traffic areas, vulnerable windows, or heavy-use household furniture, standard glass doesn’t always make the cut. Upgrading to premium safety glass is essential for protecting your family, your customers, and your property. We provide custom-cut, highly durable safety glass panels manufactured directly in the USA and shipped securely to your door.
Understanding Your Safety Glass Options
Not all safety glass is created equal. Depending on your project goals and local building codes, you generally have two main choices: tempered safety glass and laminated safety glass. Both are designed to prevent severe injuries, but they function in very different ways.
Tempered Glass: Strength and Shatter Resistance
Tempered glass undergoes a rapid heating and cooling process during manufacturing, making it up to five times stronger than standard annealed glass. It is highly resistant to blunt impacts and thermal stress. If it does break, it is designed to shatter completely into small, blunt pebbles rather than dangerous, jagged shards, virtually eliminating the risk of deep cuts.
Best for: Shower doors, patio furniture, large dining room tables, and low-level interior windows.
Laminated Glass: Security and Structural Integrity
Laminated glass takes a different approach. It consists of two or more panes of glass permanently bonded together around an ultra-strong plastic inner layer (usually PVB). If struck heavily, the glass will crack into a distinct spiderweb pattern, but the broken pieces remain firmly stuck to the plastic layer. This keeps the entire panel completely intact within its frame.
Best for: Storefront windows, overhead skylights, glass balconies, and hurricane-prone exterior doors.
Where is Safety Glass Required?
To ensure public safety, modern building codes legally mandate the use of safety glass in “hazardous locations.” While regulations vary slightly by municipality, you will almost always need to install safety glass for:
- Any glass panel located within 24 inches of a doorway.
- Glass in a wet environment, such as a shower or bathtub enclosure.
- Large windows where the bottom edge is within 18 inches of the floor.
- Stairway guardrails, handrails, and glass balcony railings.
Order Custom Safety Glass Cut to Size
Finding the right high-strength glass at a local big-box hardware store can be nearly impossible, especially if you need specific dimensions for an architectural project, a custom door frame, or a vintage table. We eliminate the hassle by fabricating your glass to your exact millimeter specifications.
